“My late husband was incapable of getting rid of anything, so the house we had lived in for 13 years was bursting at the seams. Recently widowed and facing a cross-country move (which included downsizing from 3000 to 1000 square feet) I was overwhelmed to say the least. With 10 days left until I was required to vacate the house, I was in full panic mode without a clue how to get started!
Enter Jen-the-Genius.
Jen quickly and calmly assessed the situation, interviewed me to establish my priorities, and created a workable game plan to accomplish my goals. By breaking the workload into carefully considered daily schedules, using simple motivational strategies, she kept me moving in a positive direction. Her system even interested and motivated my teenage son to actively and willingly participate! Jen mastered the complicated logistics of my move with efficient task mapping and charted my completed jobs so that I was able to visibly track my progress.
Jen was there every step of the way, helping me sort, dispose, donate, and pack everything I owned, always respectful of both my belongings and my state-of-mind. Rather than doing the work for me, she worked with me, allowing me to share the stress while being a perfect sounding board for all of my concerns. Implementing her ideas and executing her daily assignments empowered me and made me feel confident in my ability to succeed.
And succeed we did! My move was finished on schedule, my former home passed to its new owner spotless, and my things were delivered to our new location without a hitch! Even better, they were so efficiently packed and labeled that I was able to move into my next home in record time without assistance. Keeping her lessons on organization firmly in mind has been invaluable as I settle into my smaller space, allowing me to feel truly comfortable in my new surroundings.
